Human beings are naturally inquisitive creatures, and the mysteries of space and other heavenly bodies have for ages held men in awe. For early astronomers like Galileo and astronauts and scientists of today, planetary bodies hold a vast amount of information which could provide answers to questions which have plagued both the academia and human beings in general for a long time.

There are currently two rovers in operation on Mars, sending back some interesting results, but with limited capability. On this website you can find out more about the rovers that are currently being used on Mars as well as a future plan for planetary exploration. Most of our future rover model will use Mars as a reference, but there is nothing which stops our model from being modified to suit any other planet.

So, what is the future of rover technology? How autonomous could they be? Is big always better? This website will look at how current work in autonomy, self-organising networks, communication, image analysis, artificial intelligence systems and other relevant developments could be applied to rovers deployed on the surface of another planet.
